What solar financing is still available in Nova Scotia in 2026?

The most relevant options as of March 2026 are: (1) Nova Scotia's active municipal PACE programs, which include Halifax Solar City, the Clean Energy Financing municipalities, Switch West Hants, Switch Municipality of Pictou County, and Colchester's Solar Colchester and Cozy Colchester programs; and (2) standard home equity or personal financing through your bank or credit union. Nova Scotia Power's net metering program is not financing, but it is the mechanism that makes solar economically viable — it credits your solar exports against your electricity bill year-round. One important note: the fixed monthly base charge ($19.17) cannot be offset by solar credits, so a solar-only household still pays a minimum bill each month.
